Nathalie Emmanuel
Nathalie Emmanuel was a British actress, best known for her portrayal of Missandei in HBO's epic fantasy "Game of Thrones" (HBO from 2011 to 19). Born and raised in Southend-on-the-Sea, a beach-side resort town located in Essex, Emmanuel was drawn to performing from a very young age. She noticed her mother's interest and started enrolling her in singing, dancing as well as acting classes when she was only three years old. Emmanuel proved to be a gifted performer and actress. She was cast as the young Nala in the West End of "The Lion King" in the late 1990s. By the time she became an adult, Emmanuel began auditioning for television and film roles. In 2007, she landed her first major role when she portrayed Sasha Valentine in the British soap series Hollyoaks (Channel 4 from 1995 to). Emmanuel was Sasha Valentine's character for four years before leaving Hollyoaks in 2010. Emmanuel's breakthrough moment came three years later when she was selected to play Missandei as the character's interpreter the character Daenerys Targaryen (portrayed by Emilia Clarke), on HBO's "Game of Thrones." Emmanuel has appeared in each season of "Game of Thrones" through until the May 2019 season final episode.
