LeonaLeona Louise Lewis, born 3 April 1985. She is an actress musician, activist, and singer from Britain. Born and raised in the London Borough of Islington, she studied at her school at the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology located in Croydon. Lewis was an international star when she won The"X Factor"'s third series in the year 2006. She also received the PS1 million recording contract with Syco Music. The winning single, which was which was a cover to Kelly Clarkson's "A Moment like This" which peaked at the top of the charts, reached first place for four weeks on UK Singles Chart and broke records in the world by achieving 50k digital downloads in 30 minutes. In February 2007 Lewis agreed to sign a five-album deal with the United States with Clive Davis's record label, J Records. Her success continued to grow with the announcement of her first album of her own, Spirit (2007), which received a platinum certification of 10x in the UK as well as becoming the fourth most-sold album of the 2000s as well as one of the most popular albums sold in UK chart record-setting. Her album Glassheart, her third studio effort, Glassheart (2012), was a departure in direction for Lewis and her music, drawing on dubstep and electronic music. In the course of her Glassheart Tour in 2013, she started recording music for her debut Christmas album. The Christmas album, with Love came out in the latter half of 2013. The lead track, One More Sleep, came in at the number three spot across the UK. Through this chart entry, Lewis made history as the only British female artist to make it into the top five , with eight singles, surpassing Olivia Newton-John's record set by seven.
